A few weeks ago, while I was on my way on the bus, I was listening to two-person discussing why it is necessary to stop eating meat, one person was saying that she was vegan, and his partner explained that he could not stop consuming at least one portion daily; a suggestion offered by the vegan person was to start reducing the amount per day and, also try “beyond meat” option, he said that if he began to do that he would be healthier and would feel better.
After that, I was thinking of that choice (beyond meat), besides I had already noticed that nowadays there are many restaurants with this menu to vegetarians and vegans. Yet, how healthy can it be? would it be a better option? Is it convenient to stop eating meat?

I started seeking information and found that, for example, The Beyond Burger contains close to 20 ingredients, including refined coconut oil, pea protein isolate, and flavoring. According to Schwartz, this food qualifies as a highly processed food (Telpner M., 2019). This left me thinking that if we wanted to eat healthily, it would be necessary to look for other options. Moreover, the market sells us the perception through advertising that this type of “meat” is a plant-based food, and therefore it is healthy. Additionally, many people believe it when they hear others’ experiences. Unfortunately, these individuals do not research deeply, instead, they only read the ingredients when they buy these products.
Consumers are blind when they buy food thinking it’s healthy because once the food has been processed, the main element disappears, no matter whether it is plant-based (Bharti B., 2019).
